Job summary

Active Tree Services is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support Victorian operations from Bayswater. You will partner with field crews, supervisors and managers to drive safety, quality and environmental outcomes across various contracts.

The role involves site visits, audits, risk assessments and stakeholder engagement, with regular travel across Victoria and the possibility of living away from home. A Certificate IV in WHS is highly desirable and MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a health, safety or HSEQ advisory role across operational environments.
• Formal WHS qualifications are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and incident reporting.
• Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel in Victoria.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Good time management, problem-solving and computer skills, including MS Office.
• Willingness to travel across Victoria, including living away from home as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical HSEQ advice, coaching and support to leaders and crews.

Active Tree Services is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support our Victorian operations from our Bayswater office. This role partners closely with field crews, supervisors and managers to drive practical safety, quality and environmental outcomes across our commercial, council and electrical distribution contracts.

Working closely with operational leaders and the broader HSEQ function, you will provide hands‑on advice, coaching and support across a combination of office‑based work, site visits, audits and field engagement. The role involves regular travel across Victoria, including living away from home when required, making it a great opportunity for a proactive HSEQ professional who enjoys being visible and engaging stakeholders in the field and influencing safe work practices - where they matter most.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver practical HSEQ advice, coaching and support to operational leaders, supervisors and field crews
• Complete site visits, audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks across Victorian operations
• Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety communications and HSEQ awareness initiatives
• Partner with internal teams, clients and stakeholders to strengthen safety performance while maintaining HSEQ systems and documentation

What we need from you:

• Experience in a health, safety or HSEQ advisory role, preferably from a utilities, vegetation management, civil, construction, field services or a similar operational environment background
• Formal WHS qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, are highly desirable
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, incident reporting and practical safety systems
• Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence, with willingness to travel to Victorian work sites as required
• Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence operational and field‑based teams
• Good time management, problem‑solving and computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel across Victoria, including regular living away from home as required
