Job summary

MacKillop Family Services Pty in New South Wales is seeking a dedicated team member for a fixed-term, full-time role from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will assist young people in Therapeutic Supported Independent Living, model positive behaviour and contribute to the development, implementation and review of individual case plans that support emotional, social and behavioural needs.

This role requires trauma-informed practice and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent.
• Experience in youth services, residential care or supported accommodation is required.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and CALD communities is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to young people in therapeutic housing.
• Model positive behaviour and support social learning, responsibility, and emotional regulation.
• Develop, implement and review individual case plans to meet emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
• Assist young people to develop life skills and maintain connections with important people and places.
• Ensure safety and safeguard wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly.
• Participate in team and house meetings to coordinate services and address needs.
