Job summary

Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand is seeking a Financial Wellbeing Coach to support people who have experienced financial abuse. You will provide trauma-informed coaching, help participants set goals and create practical roadmaps, and work with community services to support recovery and independence.

You will engage across teams to deliver holistic responses, maintain records, and adapt approaches for diverse backgrounds, aiming to strengthen financial stability and confidence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
• Experience delivering financial wellbeing, coaching or similar services.
• Understanding of domestic and family violence and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong coaching and goal-setting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds in a culturally sensitive way.
• Strong organisation, time-management and independent work ability.
• Current driver licence and ability to meet Police Check and Working with Children Check requirements.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Tamil or Korean is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one trauma-informed financial coaching to rebuild financial wellbeing.
• Work with participants to set goals and develop personalised roadmaps.
• Identify risks and connect to financial counselling, legal and other services.
• Build relationships with community organisations and lead engagement activities.
• Deliver flexible support in person, by phone or online to meet individual needs.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure privacy and compliance.
