Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education Limited in Newcastle is expanding for 2027, inviting applications for two Teacher positions. You will deliver engaging, flexible learning for young people who have disengaged or are at risk, working with Youth Workers to support transitions and wellbeing.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive teaching, strong relationships with families and communities, and compliance with school policies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Education are required.
• Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per NSW guidelines).
• Experience designing flexible learning for disengaged students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for neurodivergent learners.
• Strong communication with students, families and stakeholders.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before start.
• Valid Australian driver's licence to drive 12-seat vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning programs including literacy and numeracy support.
• Create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment.
• Apply trauma-informed practices to manage behaviours and support student wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with students and families and support transitions.
• Collaborate with teams and external agencies for coordinated support.
• Maintain records and comply with regulatory requirements.
