Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in Newcastle is seeking a Youth Worker to support students with engagement, learning and wellbeing in a trauma-informed environment. This permanent full-time role works Monday to Friday alongside teaching staff to build confidence, resilience and life skills for young people.

You will contribute to in-class support, wellbeing programs and collaborative planning with teachers, families and community services, ensuring safety and inclusive practice across campus.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Education Support or Youth Work
• Demonstrated experience engaging young people with complex needs
• High level communication skills with families and communities
• Current First Aid certification and driver's licence required

Responsibilities

• Support student learning and engagement through in-class assistance and wellbeing programs
• Foster a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed environment
• Build positive relationships with young people and families to promote wellbeing
• Collaborate with teachers, teams and community agencies for integrated support
• Participate in school routines and professional development
• Maintain records and comply with child safety and organisational policies
