Job summary

Equality Disability & Health Care Services in Penrith, NSW is seeking reliable, compassionate Support Workers to provide 1:1 support to clients with complex mental health needs. You will work in Penrith-based settings, applying trauma-informed practice and ensuring safety and dignity in everyday activities.

The role focuses on daily living assistance, community access, documentation, and adherence to NDIS practice standards, with opportunities for ongoing training and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience working within the disability support sector.
• Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions and complex trauma backgrounds.
• Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles.
• Experience with documentation, progress notes, and compliance records.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to participants.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal prep, and transport.
• Support community access, appointments, social outings, and skill-building programs.
• Promote participant independence, choice and capacity building.
• Build strong relationships with participants, families and stakeholders.
• Maintain progress notes, incident reports and required documentation.
• Follow participant support plans and NDIs practice standards.
