Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads in Rockhampton seeks a Town Planner to help manage Central Queensland's state-controlled road network. You will assess development applications, review planning documents and provide specialist transport planning advice.

You will work with councils, developers and internal teams across the lifecycle of planning matters, applying relevant acts and policies to achieve practical, well-considered outcomes in a large, diverse region.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
• Current class C driver licence mandatory.
• Experience in transport infrastructure planning preferred.
• Experience with Planning Act 2016 and related regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess development applications and provide transport planning advice.
• Review state and local planning documents and prepare formal responses.
• Advise on corridor management and road infrastructure impacts.
• Coordinate planning matters through lifecycle and engage stakeholders.
