Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Buderim QLD is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. You will undertake statutory land-use and transport planning tasks for development assessment and compliance, and provide high-level strategic planning advice related to transport network impacts.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, a criminal history check, and the ability to liaise with state and local government, communities

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised institution.
• Criminal history check required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory land-use and transport planning tasks for development assessment and compliance.
• Provide high-level strategic and regional planning advice on transport network impacts.
• Provide guidance on legislation and planning documents affecting transport networks.
• Review proposed legislation and planning documents and advise on implications for transport networks.
• Develop liaison with internal staff, state/local government, the community and stakeholders.
• Provide timely written and oral advice on land use and town planning matters for safety and efficiency.
• Mentor and review reports to ensure quality and technical judgement.
• Prepare ministerial correspondence, briefs and district/regional reports as required.
