Job summary

City of Sydney is seeking a Transport Policy Analyst to support analysis, development and implementation of transport strategies, policies and plans. You will work within the City Access and Transport Unit to realise Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 outcomes.

The Successful Candidate will have experience in transport policy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in an agile team. A commitment to WHS, EEO and cultural diversity is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transport policy analysis and development.
  • Qualifications in transport planning/engineering/geography or related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

  • Assist in analysis, development and implementation of City transport strategies, policies, plans and projects.
  • Contribute to agile team activities and independent work in a fast-moving environment.

About The Role

As part of the City Access and Transport Unit, the Transport Policy Analyst position assists in the analysis, development and implementation of the City’s transport strategies, policies, plans and projects. These transport and access initiatives help to realise the outcomes in the City’s strategic plans, including Sustainable Sydney 2030 - 2050.


The Successful Candidate Will Have


  • Demonstrated experience in transport policy, analysis and development.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Geography, Planning or related discipline, or significant relevant experience;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast moving work environment, as part of an agile team.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work, Health and Safety and Cultural Diversity principles


This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.


The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration and a criminal history check.
