Job summary

VE Group is seeking experienced Transport Operators to join a growing team based from our Ipswich depot. The role involves operating multi‑combination vehicles across Central Queensland with immediate starts available.

You will be responsible for safe operation, pre-start checks, and compliance with fatigue management, CoR and regulatory requirements, with access to a late-model fleet and ongoing training.

Full-time and casual positions offered with weekly pay and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Current MC licence is required.
• Minimum 2–5 years' heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Experience operating multi-combinations is required.
• Competency operating an 18-speed manual Road Ranger gearbox.
• Ability to reverse and manoeuvre multi-combination trucks safely and accurately.
• Strong understanding of heavy vehicle safety and fatigue management.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate truck and quad combinations per regs.
• Operate 18-speed Road Ranger transmission.
• Reverse, position and manoeuvre combos in confined areas.
• Accurately position multi‑combination trucks and trailers.
• Couple and uncouple trailers safely.
• Assist with loading/unloading with Logistics Supervisor.
• Complete pre-start checks and transport documentation.
• Comply with fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility.

About the Role

Based from our Ipswich depot, this role involves operating Multi combinations throughout Central Queensland.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safely operating Truck & Quad combinations in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

• Operating vehicles fitted with an 18-speed manual Road Ranger transmission

• Reversing, positioning and manoeuvring Truck & Quad combinations in confined and operational areas

• Demonstrating the ability to accurately position Multi combination Truck and Trailers

• Coupling and uncoupling trailers safely

• Working with the Logistics Supervisor to support loading and unloading activities

• Completing required pre-starts, checks and transport documentation

• Complying with fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility, safety and operational requirements

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• A current MC licence

• Minimum 2–5 years' relevant heavy vehicle driving experience

• Demonstrated experience operating Multi combinations

• Competency operating an 18-speed manual Road Ranger gearbox

• Demonstrated ability to reverse and manoeuvre combination safely and accurately

• Strong understanding of heavy vehicle safety and fatigue management requirements

• General knowledge of NHVAS and the transport and logistics industry

• Ability to follow instructions and complete work within required timeframes

• Physical capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role

• Strong reliability, punctuality and professionalism
