Job summary

L&F Transfers is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee transport operations across our Central Queensland depots in Rockhampton, Blackwater, Emerald and Charters Towers. Role is senior leadership with responsibility for performance across multiple locations, with regular travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations management within transport/logistics.
• Experience leading multi-site teams across depots.
• Strong WHS knowledge and compliance with legislation.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Central Queensland.
• MR licence and Driver Authority required or ability to obtain them.
• Qualifications in business management, transport operations or fatigue management highly regarded.

L&F Transfers is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee transport operations across our Central Queensland depots. (Rockhampton, Blackwater, Emerald and Charters Towers).

This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for driving performance, leading teams, maintaining compliance and ensuring safe, reliable and efficient service delivery across multiple locations.

The position location is negotiable for the right candidate within the Rockhampton to Blackwater/Emerald region. Our head office is based in Rockhampton, and regular travel to our regional depots is an essential requirement of the role.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight across multiple depot operations, ensuring consistent standards, effective resource management and strong operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing transport operations, workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation across multiple depots.
• Managing operational budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.
• Leading, supporting and developing operational teams and depot leadership personnel.
• Driving safety, quality, health and environmental compliance across all locations.
• Monitoring operational performance, KPIs, service delivery and reporting requirements.
• Overseeing incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Managing client relationships and ensuring contractual and service delivery requirements are met.
• Ensuring fleet assets, facilities and operational processes meet required safety and compliance standards.
• Supporting tender submissions, operational planning and broader business objectives.
• Promoting a strong safety culture, accountability and consistent operational standards across the business.

About You

You are an experienced operational leader who can manage competing priorities, lead teams across multiple locations and make sound operational and commercial decisions.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in operations management, ideally within transport, logistics or a similar industry.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage resources, improve performance and achieve operational targets.
• A sound understanding of workplace health and safety, compliance and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing client relationships and operational requirements.
• The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Central Queensland.
• A Queensland MR licence and Driver Authority are required, or you must be willing to obtain them. Relevant qualifications in business management, transport operations or fatigue management will be highly regarded.
