Job summary

Randstad in Sydney, NSW, Australia is seeking a Transport Operations Manager to own the head office functions, including finance, HR, compliance and admin, while modernising systems and processes. This hands-on role reports to the business owners and drives efficient operations across the fleet.

The role requires 5+ years in transport/logistics operations, strong CoR/WHS experience, and proven ability to lead small admin teams and manage payroll and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Operations, Office, or Business Management in transport/logistics.
• Strong CoR and WHS knowledge in a fleet setting.
• Proactive, able to identify and fix inefficiencies and build better systems.
• Hands-on experience with Xero or MYOB and full-cycle payroll.

Responsibilities

• Review admin workflows and implement modern systems and SOPs to improve efficiency.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll, superannuation, reconciliations, and financial reporting to owners.
• Drive WHS standards and NHVR CoR compliance; keep the business audit-ready.
• Assist owner with client quoting, supplier negotiations, and cost control.
• Manage two admin staff and handle end-to-end recruitment and records.
• Coordinate fleet renewals, workers' comp, and liability insurance.
