Job summary

KBR's Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an experienced ICT / Operational Communications Systems (OCS) Engineer to join the Electrical Infrastructure team and deliver ICT and OCS across rail, defence and transport projects in Australia.

You will design, integrate and test communications systems, prepare technical documents, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, reliable operations from planning through handover.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering ICT, communications, telecommunications, operational technology, or systems engineering solutions.
• Exposure to transport infrastructure environments (rail, metro, road, aviation).
• Understanding of Operational Communications Systems and related technologies.
• Knowledge of engineering design processes and technical documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with systems engineering principles, requirements management, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, integration, and delivery of ICT and Operational Communications Systems for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, reports, calculations, and project documentation.
• Assist in the delivery of CCTV, PA/VA, Passenger Information Systems, Help Points, and other communications assets.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support system integration and interface management.
• Contribute to systems engineering processes including requirements management, verification, validation, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist with design packages, technical submissions, and engineering deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
• Support compliance with standards, safety, quality, and client specifications.
• Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement in project delivery.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Stay aware of emerging comms technologies and industry trends.
