Job summary

Vision Freight Systems is seeking a hands-on Depot Yard Supervisor for our Mackay operations. You will oversee daily depot activities, coordinate truck and trailer movements, and actively assist with loading/unloading of fleet units including B-Double linehaul movements.

This role requires a strong leader who can drive safety, efficiency and customer service. You will bring an MC licence, LF forklift certification, and proven experience in transport or depot operations.

Qualifications

• Current MC (Multi Combination) Driver's Licence.
• Current High Risk Work Forklift Licence (LF).
• Experience in transport, logistics, freight distribution or depot operations.
• Sound understanding of heavy vehicle operations, load restraint and freight handling.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise, motivate and work alongside a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing operational demands.
• Hands-on attitude and willingness to assist wherever required.
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience in transport is highly regarded.

• Actively assist with loading and unloading rigid trucks, semi-trailers and B-Double linehaul combinations.
• Lead and optimise daily fleet operations, maximising the utilisation of drivers, vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure freight is correctly loaded, secured, handled and dispatched within required timeframes.
• Maintain compliance with all workplace health and safety, fatigue management and transport regulations.
• Provide leadership and support to depot staff, promoting a safe, productive and positive working environment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and presentable depot, including warehouse, yard and equipment.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with operational enquiries and freight issues.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated, experienced and hands-on Depot Yard Supervisor to join our Mackay team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Depot Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our Mackay Depot.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who can lead by example, coordinate daily freight movements, manage operational priorities and ensure freight is handled safely and efficiently. Additionally you would be required to move B Doubles in and out of the depot for loading and unloading.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, safety-focused and not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

Key Responsibilities
