Job summary

Blenners Transport is seeking an experienced Depot Manager for the Rockhampton depot. This full-time role oversees daily operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient receiving and dispatch of freight.

Qualifications

• Strong focus on customer service and team leadership required.
• Experience with transportation management software is preferred.
• HR drivers licence is preferred.
• Forklift licence is preferred.
• Excellent time management to ensure timely receiving and dispatch of freight.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers daily to ensure counts are correct and goods are shipped on time.
• Liaise with drivers and subcontractors to ensure legal fitness for duty and driving hours.
• Ensure compliance with BFM and other requirements.
• Plan freight loads, equipment and create day lists.
• Coordinate local pick-up drivers and forklift operators.
• Ensure departures are loaded timely and meet customer requirements.
• Ensure drivers and subcontractors meet legal and delivery requirements.

About the Role

Blenners Transport is seeking an experienced and motivated Depot Manager to join our growing team, based at our Rockhampton depot. This is a full-time role.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Rockhampton Depot ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient receiving and dispatch of freight.

You will collaborate closely with internal departments, operational teams, and customers to ensure a smooth and high-performing operation at all times.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the smooth operation of our modern and functional transport depot while taking instructions and direction from the Directors.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with customers on a daily basis to ensure their counts are correct and their goods are shipped in a timely manner for their specified delivery day/time
• Liaise with drivers and sub contractors to ensure they are legally fit for duty and have legal driving hours for the load they are taking
• Ensure at all times Blenners Transport adheres to BFM and compliance requirements
• Plan freight loads, equipment and create day list
• Coordination and management of local pick up drivers and forklift operators
• Ensure truck departures are loaded in a timely and safe manner to ensure departure, full load and customer requirements are met
• Ensure all drivers and sub contractors meet both legal and delivery requirements

Requirements:

• A strong focus on customer service & be a team leader
• Competency in transportation management or logistics software
• Current HR drivers licence (Preferred)
• Current forklift licence (Preferred)
• Possess excellent time management skills to ensure timely receiving and dispatch of all freight in a perishable environment
• Sound knowledge of transport compliance and workplace health and safety requirements
• Experience working within a fast paced environment.
