Job summary

Belmont Hospital, part of NSW Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Transition to Perioperative Practice Program in Anaesthetics and PACU. The role offers exposure to a range of surgical specialties and a supported learning environment to build perioperative skills.

You will work Monday to Friday in a structured program with clinical time, supervision and development opportunities within a busy Operating Suite.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Completion of a 12-month Transition to New Graduate Program or equivalent acute care experience.
  • Commitment to infection prevention and control, safety and quality patient care.
  • Ability to deliver individualized, patient-centred care.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday.

Transition to Perioperative Practice Program

Our structured Transition to Perioperative Practice Program provides the education, simulation and supported clinical experience you need to confidently transition into Anaesthetics and PACU.
You’ll receive:

  • Clinical skills training and resource manuals.
  • Professional development and simulation opportunities.
  • Preceptorship and supernumerary clinical time.
  • Ongoing support from experienced perioperative nurses.

You won’t be expected to know everything on day one — you’ll have the support, guidance and opportunities to learn and grow in your new specialty.

Belmont Hospital’s Operating Suite is a busy and rewarding service with four operating theatres and a diverse range of surgical specialties. Operating Monday to Friday, with staggered shifts between 7:00am and 7:30pm, you’ll enjoy variety in your day while maintaining a great work-life balance.
You’ll join a supportive, collaborative team that values teamwork, open communication and continuous learning, with experienced colleagues to help build your clinical confidence.
