Hunter New England Imaging (HNEI) is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team across John Hunter Hospital, Belmont Hospital, Maitland Hospital and Calvary Mater at Waratah. You will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment delivering expert patient care through interventional radiology, angiography and operating theatre procedures.

The role offers professional development with a Clinical Nurse Educator, opportunities to grow scrub and angiography skills,

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology, Medical Imaging, Angiography or Operating Theatre is highly regarded, but we welcome development of new skills.

Responsibilities

• Make a difference at every stage of the patient journey, delivering expert, compassionate care across diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Support patients before, during and after procedures.
• Develop your scrub, scout and Angiography skills.
• Monitor and respond to changing patient needs.

• Participate in a seven-day rotating on-call roster.

About You

You’re a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration, strong clinical judgement and a passion for safe, person-centred care. Experience in Interventional Radiology, Medical Imaging, Angiography or Operating Theatre is highly regarded, but we also welcome nurses eager to develop their skills in this specialised area.
To be successful, you will bring:

• Demonstrated competency in intravenous cannulation, patient assessment and monitoring.
• Strong communication, teamwork and clinical decision-making skills.
• A commitment to safe, evidence-based care and professional practice.
• Advanced Life Support and airway management certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to develop sedation skills and obtain accreditation within three months of commencing.

You’ll be supported by an experienced team and a full-time Clinical Nurse Educator, with opportunities to develop skills in:

• Scrub and scout nursing
• Angiography and interventional procedures
• Procedural sedation and cannulation
• Patient assessment and monitoring
