Job summary

Montagu Group Pty LTD is recruiting an experienced Transition Project Manager to lead the handover of a major ICT modernisation program from delivery to business as usual for a Queensland Government department.

The role focuses on the design of the Target Operating Model, transition planning, and ensuring a smooth migration to operations with a managed service provider, under PRINCE2 and ITIL frameworks.

Qualifications

• PRINCE2 Foundation certification mandatory.
• ITIL certification mandatory.
• Experience in IT Service Management (ITSM).
• Recent cloud project experience with AWS and COTS products desirable.
• Experience delivering projects within QLD Government.
• Experience transitioning enterprise software into operations with a MSP.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating the design, development and validation of the Target Operating Model with key SMEs and stakeholders.
• Developing the transition plan and supporting documentation to communicate with stakeholders.
• Contributing to the procurement and onboarding of a managed service provider (MSP), including confirming service requirements and establishing the contract.
• Planning and coordinating transition in activities and resources to set up the IT support model and embed new ways of working.
• Managing risks, issues and dependencies and providing regular status reporting.
• Leading organisational change activities, including communications, change impact assessment, business readiness, operational documentation, knowledge transfer and service level monitoring.

About the opportunity
Our client, a large Queensland Government department, is seeking an experienced Transition Project Manager to make sure a major ICT modernisation program moves successfully from project delivery into business-as-usual operations.

The program is consolidating and replacing the legacy ICT systems and operational technologies behind the Queensland Government's Camera Detected Offence Program (CDOP). It will deliver new capabilities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

About the role
You'll own the transition from project to operations across the business, people, process and technology aspects. Change resources are in place to support this work and may report to you. Your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating the design, development and validation of the Target Operating Model with key SMEs and stakeholders
• Developing the transition plan and supporting documentation to communicate with stakeholders
• Contributing to the procurement and onboarding of a managed service provider (MSP), including confirming service requirements and establishing the contract
• Planning and coordinating "transition in" activities and resources to set up the IT support model and embed new ways of working
• Managing risks, issues and dependencies and providing regular status reporting
• Leading organisational change activities, including communications, change impact assessment, business readiness, operational documentation, knowledge transfer and service level monitoring

You'll work within the department's governance and project delivery framework, which is based on PRINCE2 and Agile.

About you
Mandatory:

• PRINCE2 Foundation certification
• ITIL certification
• Experience in IT Service Management (ITSM)

Highly desirable:

• PRINCE2 Practitioner certification
• Recent project experience with cloud solutions (particularly AWS) and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products
• Experience delivering projects within QLD Government
• Experience transitioning enterprise software into operations with a managed service provider, in government or a large organisation
• Experience on large-scale enterprise software transformation programs
