Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a school counsellor based at Parkes High School to support students’ learning and wellbeing through counselling and psychological assessment. You will work with primary and high school aged students across the lifecycle, collaborating with families, teachers and external agencies within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The role offers supervision, ongoing professional development and induction, with opportunities to travel between worksites.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Must be a registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with school communities, teachers, families and external agencies to improve outcomes.
• Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development as part of a multidisciplinary team.
