Parkes High School in regional NSW is seeking a full-time School Psychologist to join the counselling service. Based at Parkes High School, the role provides counselling and psychological assessment to primary and high school students, supporting teachers to strengthen learning and wellbeing outcomes, and helping families manage mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and commitment to Aboriginal Education Policy and inclusion strategies.
• General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid Working with Children Check clearance in NSW.
• Current and valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsabilités

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Implements procedures of the NSW School Counselling Service framework.
• Collaborates with school leadership and support services to improve learning and wellbeing.
• Contributes to students’ social, emotional and academic development, including complex needs.
• Conducts cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Works with families, carers and external agencies to support students’ health and wellbeing.
• Responds to incidents as part of the team and supports schools accordingly.
• Refers students to other agencies to support wellbeing and development.
