We are looking for a senior, hands-on Product Owner – Delivery Model (AI-enabled) to lead the evolution of Aware Super’s end-to-end delivery model. The product you’ll own is not a traditional customer-facing platform. It is the way work moves from an idea through to member value, bringing together roles, workflows, decision rights, controls, technology and AI-enabled capabilities.
Reporting to the Head of Transformation and working under the co-accountability of the Head of Transformation and Head of Digital Platforms, you’ll set the vision, roadmap, outcomes and prioritised backlog for an increasingly AI-enabled and agentic delivery lifecycle.
This is a maker and product decision-maker role. You’ll personally undertake discovery, map journeys and processes, develop prototypes, define acceptance criteria, make prioritisation decisions and use evidence to determine what should scale, adapt or stop.
In this role you will:
Set and communicate the product vision, outcomes, roadmap and prioritised backlog for the end-to-end delivery model.
Bring together human capability, ways of working, technology, controls and agentic capability into one coherent product.
Make clear decisions about scope, sequencing and product design based on member value, evidence, risk and feasibility.
Maintain one integrated backlog, including the supporting engineering pipeline.
Provide product direction to a cross-functional squad without direct line-management accountability.
Reimagine how work gets done by understanding user needs, challenging existing processes and determining where work is best performed by people, AI agents or a combination of both, while keeping member value at the centre.
Turn ideas into practical solutions by creating product artefacts, prototypes and clear requirements, testing them through real work and using feedback and evidence to continuously improve the delivery model.
Shape an AI-enabled delivery model by partnering across Transformation, People, Technology, Engineering and Risk to redesign roles, skills, decision rights and ways of working, while embedding responsible AI, appropriate controls and human oversight.
How do you exceed ourexpectations? You will have the following experience:
End-to-end ownership of an internal product, platform or operating model, including its vision, outcomes, roadmap, backlog, acceptance and scale, adapt or stop decisions.
Evidence of delivering measurable improvements through product-led operating-model or delivery transformation.
Prioritising an engineering backlog where the users were delivery, technology or engineering teams.
Translating user problems into problem-framed requirements and testable acceptance criteria.
Redesigning how work flows, including removing hand-offs and changing roles, processes or decision rights.
Working with risk and control owners to simplify and strengthen controls in a regulated environment.
Strong hands-on product craft, including personally developing problem statements, journey maps, process maps, prototypes, measures and roadmap options.
Practical experience using AI, coding or workflow agents in real work.
An understanding of the trade-offs between a skill, an agent, an integration, an automated workflow and a human step.
The ability to interpret and challenge evaluation, performance and adoption data.
Strong measurement discipline, including establishing baselines, instrumenting outcomes and using evidence to defend product decisions.
The confidence to influence without authority, surface uncomfortable trade-offs and recommend when work should stop.
Applicants must have the right to work inAustralia and will be subject to police and bankruptcy checks.
