Job summary

Glencore's Oaky Creek Coal operation in Tieri, Queensland, is seeking a proactive Training Officer to join the Health, Safety & Training team. You will provide admin support, manage training records, and assist in coordinating programs.

The successful candidate has 2+ years in training systems, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferred; flexible work arrangement and site-based role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in training systems with compliance focus.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive attitude.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of administration support and collaborate with all personnel.
• Maintain skills for the workforce through the training management system.
• Support the Senior Training Coordinator in administering site training needs, including skills development, refresher training, Training Days, course forecasting and onboarding.
• Coordinate specialised Training Programs in consultation with Training Superintendent.
• Build and develop stakeholder relationships as the primary contact for the Training Department.

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, an opportunity exists for a proactive and organised Training Officer to join the Health, Safety & Training team at Oaky Creek Mine. As a member of the Training team, you will be challenged but rewarded by knowing that you have a positive influence in the business. You will be professional and highly organized with experience in managing multiple tasks and priorities.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing a high level of administration support and work collaboratively with all personnel
• Maintaining skills for the workforce through our training management system
• Supporting the Senior Training Coordinator in administering the site training needs, through skills development, refresher training, Training Days, course forecasting and onboarding.
• You will also be able to assist in the coordination of specialised Training Programs in consultation with Training Superintendent.
• As for primary contact the Training Department, you will be adept at building and developing stakeholder relationships.

As the successful Training Officer, you will have:

• 2+ years’ experience in training systems, with a focus on compliance and mid‑sized project work
• Excellent attention to detail, be responsive, enthusiastic, innovative and a self‑motivated person
• A can‑do attitude and are keen to work with the Training Team in a dynamic environment
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and priorities competing projects and/or workload
• Experience in training management systems, and online portals / platforms will be viewed favourably
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be viewed favourably
• Previous experience and/or working towards a career in Training will be highly regarded.
