Job summary

Glencore at the Oaky Creek Mine is seeking a proactive Training Officer to join the Health, Safety & Training team. You will manage administrative tasks, maintain training records, and support workforce development through our training system.

You will coordinate onboarding, scheduling, and forecasting with senior staff, while developing strong stakeholder relationships in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in training systems, focus on compliance and mid-sized projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive, self-motivated approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with training portals/platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level administration support and coordinate with site personnel.
• Maintain workforce training records and manage the training management system.
• Assist Senior Training Coordinator with site training needs, forecasting and onboarding.
• Coordinate specialised training programs in consultation with Training Superintendent.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders as primary Training Department contact.

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, an opportunity exists for a proactive and organised Training Officer to join the Health, Safety & Training team at Oaky Creek Mine.

As a member of the Training team, you will be challenged but rewarded by knowing that you have a positive influence in the business. You will be professional and highly organised with experience in managing multiple tasks and priorities.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing a high level of administration support and work collaboratively with all personnel
• Maintaining skills for the workforce through our training management system
• Supporting the Senior Training Coordinator in administering the site training needs, through skills development, refresher training, Training Days, course forecasting and onboarding.
• You will also be able to assist in the coordination of specialised Training Programs in consultation with Training Superintendent.
• As for primary contact the Training Department, you will be adept at building and developing stakeholder relationships.

As the successful Training Officer, you will have:

• 2+ years’ experience in training systems, with a focus on compliance and mid-sized project work
• Excellent attention to detail, be responsive, enthusiastic, innovative and a self-motivated person
• A can-do attitude and are keen to work with the Training Team in a dynamic environment
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and priorities competing projects and/or workload
• Experience in training management systems, and online portals / platforms will be viewed favourably
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be viewed favourably
• Previous experience and/or working towards a career in Training will be highly regarded.
