OTTICO Equipment is seeking a hands-on Training, Development & Workplace Health and Safety Lead to drive safety and learning across the Albury site and service centres. You’ll own the LMS, build compliant training, and partner with managers to embed practical safety practices on the factory floor.
The role blends on-site inspections, SOP creation, and strategic input into safety initiatives, with occasional state-wide travel to NSW, QLD and VIC.
Own training and safety across an iconic Australian manufacturing brand - a hands-on, high-impact role based right here in Albury!
Total HRM has partnered with OTTICO Equipment, creators of SPITWATER, to find their next Training, Development & Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Lead.
Every SPITWATER machine that leaves the OTTICO Equipment Albury factory carries four decades of “built tough” behind it - this role is about making sure the people building it are just as well trained and just as safe.
This isn't a desk-bound compliance role. You'll be on the factory floor, in the workshop, and in conversation with managers who want practical, straight-talking safety advice - not another policy nobody reads.
If you want a role where the impact of your work is visible every single day, keep reading!
OTTICO Equipment is the Albury factory behind SPITWATER - the SPITWATER pressure cleaners, JETFIRE heaters and VACSTORM vacuums that Aussie tradies, farmers and factories have trusted since 1982. It started when Giancarlo and Maresa Martinotti, fresh from Italy, decided Australian industry needed cleaning equipment as tough as the conditions it worked in - so they built it themselves, right here in Albury. That original factory still stands today, still designing, engineering and manufacturing for the future.
Forty-plus years on, SPITWATER is hard at work in mines, on farms, in workshops and factories right across the country, backed by a national network of distribution centres and dealers. It's a proudly Australian, family-founded business that has grown without losing its down-to-earth culture - you'll work alongside people who've been part of the story for decades.
And when the workday's done, you're in Albury-Wodonga - a border city on the Murray River with city conveniences and none of the commute. Think a relaxed café culture, wineries in Rutherglen and Beechworth a short drive away, snowfields at Falls Creek and Mt Hotham under two hours from home, and a housing market a fraction of the price of Sydney or Melbourne.
We encourage diverse candidates to apply, including women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from multicultural backgrounds, people with disability, veterans, young people, and people over 45 years old, even if your experience doesn't align perfectly.
You will need full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence to be considered for this position. Additional assessments may apply.
Applications close: Friday October 16th 2026, although you may be appointed earlier.
Hot tip: Make your application stand out from the crowd by adding a written cover letter or recording a 60-second video introducing yourself and your suitability.
