Job summary

CAE is seeking a Technical Editor and Quality Assurance Specialist in Homebush, NSW, on a hybrid/onsite basis. You will review training materials, technical reports, and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and professionalism across defence capability programs.

You will develop templates and writing standards, lead language hygiene audits for courseware, and coach teammates in technical writing and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) required.
• Training or qualifications in development of computer-based training.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in training development.
• Experience in training development within a military aviation or naval platform environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of ADF training policies and procedures (SADL).
• Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50122).
• Experience working with Learning Content Management Systems and authoring tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage editing and delivery schedules across multiple priorities.
• Ability to train and coach others in the correct use of the English language.
• Ability to develop documentation and writing capability across a broader team.
• Strong judgement and decision-making skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required Australian Defence Security Clearance.
• Ability to work at our Homebush, NSW site in a hybrid or onsite capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience establishing editorial governance frameworks and style guides
• Experience acting as a quality assurance lead on Defence training projects
• Advanced technical editing or professional writing qualifications
• Experience supporting large-scale Defence training transformation programs

Location

Homebush, NSW We operate a hybrid working approach. This is a part-time role - 3 days a week in office Some domestic and international travel may be required.
