Job summary

Ocius Technology is seeking a Training Designer to create essential training materials for current and new team members. You will work with leaders and subject matter experts to build a new learning capability from the ground up, solving real workforce needs.

In this role you will design content across face-to-face, virtual, e-learning and blended formats, facilitating workshops to translate complex information into practical learning materials and solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in learning design and instructional design.
• Ability to translate complex information into engaging content with SMEs.
• Experience designing face-to-face, virtual, e-learning and blended solutions.
• Confident facilitation and presentation skills.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Thrives in a startup or high-growth environment and contributes to capability development.
• Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain Baseline security clearance.

Job description

Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.

We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.

The Function

The Workforce function is accountable for building and sustaining the organisational capability required to deliver Ocius’ strategy.

The Role

The Training Designer will design critical trainingmaterials for the Ocius team, for both current and new team members. The role requires expertise on how people actually learnand how they apply themselves confidently in new learning experiences. The role will help build a new learning capability from the ground up, working directly with leaders and subject matter experts to solve real workforceneeds.

A typical day as a Training Designer could include:

• Facilitate workshops and consultations with subject matter experts, leaders, and stakeholders to gather, validate, and refine competency and content requirements.
• Partner with leaders, stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and priorities.
• Designlearning across face-to-face, virtual, e-learning and blended formats.

Selection Criteria

• 4+ years in learning design, instructional design with a focus on the production of content and materials
• Ability to happily partner with SMEs to translate complex information into engaging and clear content
• Strong instructional design capability and the ability to turn subject matter expertise into practical learning content.
• Demonstrated experience designing face-to-face, virtual, e-learning and blended solutions.
• Confident facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a room and deliver content effectively.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will thrive in a start-up or high-growth environment, and be eager to contribute to the development and improvement of the training function within Ocius
