Job description

Trainer and Assessor (Electrician - Electrical Field)

Electro Group Training Queensland Ltd – Brisbane QLD

Electrotechnology Trainer & Assessor

Full-Time | Part-Time | Contract | Casual

Pinkenba, Brisbane

Ready to take your electrical career in a new direction?

You’ve built the skills. You’ve gained the experience. Now you can use it to shape the next generation of electrical professionals.

Due to continued growth, Electro Group Training is looking for experienced industry professionals to join our training team in Pinkenba across Full-Time, Part-Time, Contract and Casual opportunities.

If you’re an electrician, renewable energy specialist, telecommunications professional or experienced post trade technician who enjoys mentoring others, this could be the career move you’ve been looking for.

This is an opportunity to step off the tools without stepping away from the industry.

You’ll stay connected to the trade, work with apprentices and experienced technicians, share the knowledge you’ve built throughout your career and help develop the future workforce of the electrotechnology industry.

Why join Electro Group Training?

Electro Group Training is an industry training college established by the industry, for the industry.

For more than 25 years, we have worked closely with apprentices, employers and the broader electrotechnology sector across Queensland.

We are looking for people who bring more than technical knowledge. We want professionals who can share the practical lessons, standards and experience that only come from working in the industry.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities may include training across:

  • Electrical apprenticeship programs

  • Certificate II pre-vocational programs

  • Solar and renewable energy

  • Electrical contractor training

  • Telecommunications

  • Testing and fault finding

  • Post-trade and specialist technical programs

  • Accredited and non-accredited industry training

What you’ll be doing

As an Electrotechnology Trainer & Assessor, you will combine your industry experience with practical training and mentoring.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging classroom, workshop and hands on practical training

  • Train and assess apprentices, tradespeople and industry professionals

  • Mentor students and help build their technical capability and confidence

  • Develop strong relationships with apprentices, employers and industry stakeholders

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training programs and resources

  • Maintain high standards of training quality, compliance and documentation

  • Participate in internal and external RTO audits where required

  • Bring current industry practices and real-world experience into the classroom

Who we’re looking for

We are interested in hearing from experienced professionals who genuinely enjoy helping others develop.

You will ideally bring:

  • An electrical trade qualification

  • Relevant industry experience across electrical, renewable energy, telecommunications or specialist electrotechnology areas

  • Strong current technical knowledge

  • Relevant licences, endorsements or specialist qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence working with apprentices, tradespeople and employers

  • Good computer skills and the ability to work with training systems

  • A genuine passion for mentoring and developing future industry professionals

A TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly regarded, but not essential.

If you have the right industry experience and attitude but have never worked as a trainer before, we still want to hear from you.

We are prepared to support the right candidates to gain their training and assessment qualification.

This could suit you if…

You’ve reached the point in your career where you want something different.

You may want to reduce the physical demands of working on the tools.

You may want better career longevity.

You may want to give something back to the industry.

Or you may simply enjoy teaching apprentices, supervising tradespeople and helping others become better at what they do.

Whatever your motivation, training can provide an incredibly rewarding next chapter to an electrical career.

Join an industry that’s building the future

Australia’s electrical and renewable energy industries are evolving rapidly, and the quality of tomorrow’s workforce depends on the people training them today.

At Electro Group Training, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the next generation of electricians, technicians and renewable energy professionals while building a rewarding and future-focused career of your own.

We offer opportunities across Full-Time, Part-Time, Contract and Casual arrangements, and remuneration will be negotiated based on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications and the nature of the engagement.

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.

Interested?

If you’re an experienced industry professional who thinks you could make a difference in training the next generation, we’d like to hear from you.
