You’ll have timetables planned well in advance, time allocated for preparation and administration, and experienced colleagues to work alongside.
You’ll lead practical workshop sessions and classroom learning, explain electrical concepts and help students connect the theory to what happens on the job.
Alongside delivering training, you’ll assess competency, provide constructive feedback, prepare lessons and keep student records up to date. You’ll also contribute to training resources and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.
Your weekly structure includes 21 teaching contact hours, 11 hours for administration and 4.25 hours of discretionary preparation time, which can be completed on or off campus.
Cairns will be your home campus. Some regional travel may be required, with work travel, accommodation and meals covered.
Already teaching? Bring your training and assessment experience, contribute your ideas and continue developing your practice within an experienced team.
Considering your first teaching role? If you’ve enjoyed training apprentices, explaining technical work or helping colleagues improve, we’d like to hear from you. Applicants who hold their TAE or are currently completing it are preferred.
A supported entry pathway may also be considered for suitable tradespeople who haven’t yet started.
Structured induction, practical mentoring and a dedicated educator support team will help you find your feet and build confidence in the role.
