As a Train Guard, you’ll act as an ambassador for Sydney Trains, handling safety issues, delivering public announcements, and providing outstanding customer service. Training may require early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays to support our 24/7 operations.

In this role, you'll:

To set you up for success as a qualified Train Guard, we are now recruiting for Trainee Train Guards. During the Training program, you'll undergo comprehensive training to master all aspects of the Train Guard role. From assisting passengers and ensuring their safety during boarding and alighting to dispatching trains and maintaining onboard security, you'll be equipped with the skills needed to excel in this dynamic position.

As a Train Guard, you'll play a vital role as an ambassador for Sydney Trains, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of the thousands of passengers who rely on our services daily. Your responsibilities will include managing safety issues, overseeing smooth train operations, providing public announcements and delivering excellent customer service.

While the road to becoming a Train Guard is fulfilling, it requires dedication and flexibility. You'll be expected to adhere to, in-person and on the train training schedule at, which may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Your commitment is crucial to supporting Sydney Trains' 24/7 operational business.
