Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Trainee Water Treatment Operator for the Mount Piper Water Treatment Facility near Lithgow. You’ll receive practical training while helping operate and maintain essential water treatment equipment, building a long-term career in water operations.

No water treatment experience is required. If you are safety focused, mechanically minded and eager to learn, Veolia wants to hear from you and to welcome you into our supportive team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/ electrical or process-operations interest will help but is not essential.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a rotating shift environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate water treatment equipment.
• Perform routine plant inspections and checks.
• Assist with basic maintenance and repairs.
• Collect water samples and conduct tests.
• Identify and report equipment or process issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records.
• Keep plant and work areas clean and safe.
• Participate in shift handovers and toolbox talks.

What you’ll Do

• Monitoring and operating water treatment equipment
• Completing routine plant inspections and checks

• Maintaining accurate operational records
• Keeping plant and work areas clean and safe

• This position works a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays.
