Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Trainee Water Treatment Operator to join our Mount Piper Power Station Water Treatment Facility near Lithgow. You will receive practical training while helping operate and maintain water treatment equipment and work towards a long-term career in water operations.

No water treatment experience is required. If you are safety focused, mechanically minded and willing to learn, we would like to hear from you. This is permanent, full-time employment with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• A practical approach and willingness to learn.
• An interest in machinery, maintenance or plant operation.
• Reliability and a strong commitment to safety.
• Mechanical, electrical, process operations or trade experience would be helpful but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and operating water treatment equipment
• Completing routine plant inspections and checks
• Assisting with basic maintenance and repairs
• Collecting water samples and carrying out testing
• Identifying and reporting equipment or process issues
• Maintaining accurate operational records
• Keeping plant and work areas clean and safe
• Participating in shift handovers, toolbox talks and training
• This position works a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays.
