Job summary

Civiltest Pty Ltd, a leading geotechnical and laboratory testing provider in Australia, seeks a Trainee Laboratory Soil Technician for the Mornington team. No prior experience is required; full training will be provided.

You will gain hands-on experience in both laboratory and field settings across infrastructure, mining and construction projects. You’ll work with experienced technicians, learn to operate testing equipment, and contribute to test reporting while adhering to safety and quality

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory and field soil testing (moisture content, density, particle size, Atterberg limits).
• Prepare, test and record soil samples per Australian Standards and procedures.
• Learn to operate and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment.
• Record test results accurately and assist with report preparation.
• Support senior technicians with field investigations and site testing.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Work as part of a supportive team while developing technical skills.

Civiltest Pty Ltd, a leading provider of geotechnical, construction materials and laboratory testing services across Australia, is looking for a Trainee Laboratory Soil Technician to join our Mornington team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the geotechnical and construction testing industry. No previous experience is required – full training will be provided. You'll gain hands-on experience in both the laboratory and field while working alongside experienced technicians on a variety of infrastructure, mining and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with a range of laboratory and field soil testing, including moisture content, density, particle size distribution and Atterberg limits
• Prepare, test and record soil samples in accordance with Australian Standards and company procedures
• Learn to operate and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment
• Accurately record test results and assist with report preparation
• Support senior technicians with field investigations and site testing
• Follow company health, safety and quality procedures at all times
• Work as part of a supportive team while developing your technical skills
