Job summary

Protest People, part of PTG Group, Brisbane Laboratory is seeking a Technician with soil testing expertise to perform field and laboratory tests across Australian Standards. Role involves training in test methods, following lab procedures, and liaising with clients and staff.

We require a minimum of 3 years’ Soil Technician experience, a Certificate 3/4 in Construction Materials Testing, and a Nuclear Gauge License or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and strong verbal/written communication.
• Ability to travel for work and adapt to flexible hours.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stay composed under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work unsupervised.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Soil Technician.

Responsibilities

• Undertake both field and laboratory testing across a broad range of methods, including but not limited to Australian Standards
• Complete laboratory testing at the required production level
• Undertake training in test methods
• Follow procedures directed by the Laboratory Manager
• Prepare worksheets checking measurements and calculations of test results of other technicians
• Maintain, clean and test equipment while keeping work area tidy
• Liaise with internal staff and clients

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technician at our Brisbane Laboratory we will require you to:

• The ability to work under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work
• The ability to be a team player and work unsupervised
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Soil Technician
