Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Mackay is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to learn on the job, support sampling and testing of asphalt, bitumen and aggregates, and gain hands-on experience in a busy materials lab.

Full training, mentoring and a pathway into a long-term career in infrastructure construction are provided, with opportunities to study Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques and to travel as required.

Qualifications

• Commence studying a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
• Assist with sampling and testing of asphalt, bitumen and aggregates.
• Assist with reporting, record keeping and calibrations including reporting non-conforming products.
• Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
• Hold a valid Driver’s Licence and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sampling and testing of asphalt, bitumen, and aggregates including onsite sampling.
• Assist with reporting, record keeping and calibrations including reporting non-conforming products.
• Conduct procedures safely and maintain good housekeeping of laboratory and surrounds.
• Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
• Travel as required for business needs and training.
