Job summary

Fulton Hogan invites applications for a Trainee Laboratory Technician based at our Mackay laboratory. You will commence by studying a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques and support sampling and testing of asphalt, bitumen and aggregates, with onsite sampling and reporting responsibilities.

Full training and mentoring will be provided, with career pathways into apprenticeships or certificates. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel are required as some away work is expected.

• Enrolment in Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
• Willingness to travel with a valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sampling and testing of asphalt, bitumen and aggregates, including onsite sampling.
• Assist with reporting, record keeping and calibrations, including reporting non-conforming products.
• Conduct procedures safely and maintain laboratory housekeeping, in line with NATA requirements.
• Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
• Occasional travel away from base laboratory is required.
