Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd. is hiring a Laboratory Technician for our Laverton North lab. The role suits entry level or experienced candidates, focused on testing asphalt to Australian standards in a NATA-accredited laboratory.

You will sample and test asphalt, aggregates and binders, manage chemicals, and report results while maintaining safety and accuracy. Night shifts and weekend work may be required, with opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current and valid Driver's Licence.
• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (advantageous).
• Experience in heavy industries or interest in asphalt field.
• Understanding of Australian standards for laboratories (favourable).

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing of asphalt, aggregates, binders and field compaction.
• Hands-on sampling and testing according to specified requirements.
• Handling and management of chemicals to relevant standards.
• Reporting, record keeping and calibrations including non-conforming products.
• Safety procedures and good housekeeping in laboratory and surrounds.
• Providing technical support to production departments.
• Some travel will be required.
