On Group Australia is seeking a motivated Trainee Fabricator to join their Thomastown workshop in Melbourne. No expert knowledge required—just keenness, reliability and good manual skills.

You'll train on laser cutting and press braking, progressing to running jobs independently with support from a small, friendly team. The role offers structured, hands-on training on modern equipment, with a clear development path and a stable, full-time Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Some workshop experience: pre-apprenticeship, TAFE, a factory role or solid hands-on hobby work.
• Mechanically minded, with a real interest in metal fabrication.
• Good with measurements and an eye for detail.
• Safety first, every time.
• Reliable, punctual and happy to take direction.
• Forklift licence, driver's licence or any laser/press brake/welding exposure is a bonus.

Responsabilités

• Load, set up and run the laser cutter, and learn to work with cutting programs
• Set up and operate the press brake to bend parts to drawing
• Learn to read engineering drawings and check your parts for accuracy
• Deburr, finish and assemble components, and learn MIG welding
• Help with dispatch, stock handling and keeping the workshop clean and safe
