Job summary

Ternary in Newcastle region is seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker to assist aged care clients at home. No experience is required; training for Certificate III in Individual Support will be provided with paid buddy shifts and training days.

Shifts are Mon-Fri, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, with 15-30+ hours per week possible. You will need a NSW driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to travel between clients in Merewether/Hamilton.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on-the-job training provided for Certificate III in Individual Support.
• Training on paid buddy shifts and training days.
• Must have NSW driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and be within 10 km of Merewether/Hamilton area.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients in their homes to provide domestic assistance.
• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and transportation.
• Support clients with social activities and respite services.

Our client, a well-established home and community care organisation, is seeking new team members to join their local team in the region.

No experience is required; we will train you in Certificate III in Individual Support, and you will be paid to attend buddy shifts, regular shifts, and training days.

On-the-job training provided.

We are expanding this team to deal with the increase in new clients requiring services, with the expansion of community services.

When you start your career as a Community Support Worker, you can complete socialisation and domestic tasks. As you progress, you will receive training in additional services, such as personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting), respite, catheter care, and much more!

• Ability to pass and receive a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card (WVPC)
• Have a current NSW driver's licence
• Have a reliable, registered vehicle, with full comprehensive insurance; and
• Have regular availability
• Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or a Permanent resident, allowing access to State Funding for the program.
• Hold a current First Aid & CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain.

Shifts are available Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, and can suit parents-friendly availability as well.

You will be visiting (clients - aged care) in their homes and supporting them with services, which may include:

• Domestic Assistance
• Shopping trips
• Personal Care (dressing, showering, grooming, etc)
• Meal Preparation
• Transportation
• To & from Medical Appointments
• Social Activities
• Respite
