Job summary

Rio Tinto in Weipa (Far North Queensland) is seeking an experienced Train Driver to join our Railway Operations team. Based in Weipa, you will operate JT42C and GL class locomotives, perform basic maintenance, and ensure adherence to Rio Tinto procedures to support 24/7 operations delivering bauxite.

This residential role offers a four-on, five-off, five-on, twelve-hour roster, remote area benefits, and comprehensive compensation including annual incentives and health cover.

Responsibilities

• Operating a JT42C and GL class locomotives.
• Performing basic maintenance on equipment including pre-start checks, refueling, lube fill, inspections, rake changes, shunting and other general ground duties.
• Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with Rio Tinto's operating procedures.
