Job summary
Rio Tinto is seeking a Supervisor HEQ Maintenance in Weipa, Queensland, to lead a mechanical and auto-electric maintenance team for heavy mobile equipment. The role includes relocating to Weipa with a 5/4 roster and supervising frontline maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation of mining equipment.
You will report to the Superintendent Amdoom HEQ, coach your team, and collaborate with stakeholders to execute plans, optimize practices, and deliver results in a remote, high-demand
Qualifications
- Safety-focused approach with ability to coach and develop a team
- Relevant trade or engineering qualification
- Proactive mindset to drive a safe working culture
- Leadership experience with mobile plant capability and license to operate
Responsibilities
- Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours and processes
- Lead multi-discipline trade team of first responders and scheduled work
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to align on plans
- Drive cost management by identifying savings opportunities
- Manage day-to-day operations through SAP
- Champion continuous improvement to optimize practices and equipment performance
