Job summary

AVADA Traffic is seeking a Traffic Management Designer (TMD) to join our Queensland team. The role focuses on safe, efficient planning of roadworks and events, delivering compliant TMPs and TGSs and collaborating with clients and operations.

The position is fully work from home, with a preference for the Gold Coast region but open to candidates across Queensland. Standard hours are Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs).
• Strong understanding of QGTTM and AGTTM standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design high-quality TMPs and TGSs in accordance with standards and legislation.
• Ensure plans meet QGTTM and AGTTM requirements.
• Liaise with regional managers, supervisors and clients to develop site-specific solutions.
• Revise and update plans based on site changes or project feedback.
• Utilise RapidPlan to deliver accurate designs.
• Maintain documentation and meet client submission requirements.
• Uphold safety-first principles in all designs.

Role Purpose

We are currently looking for a full-time Traffic Management Designer(TMD) to join our Queensland team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient planning of roadworks, events, construction activities, and other projects requiring temporary or permanent traffic arrangements. You'll play a key part in delivering compliant, practical, and innovative traffic solutions that support our clients and field operations.

This position is fully work from home

While we would prefer a presence on the Gold Coast, we will consider applicants from any region in Queensland

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm

Key Accountabilities

Design high-quality Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) in accordance with applicable standards and legislation.

Ensure all designs meet the requirements of relevant authorities, including Queensland Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (QGTTM) and Austroads' Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM).

Liaise with regional managers, supervisors, and clients to develop tailored and site-specific solutions.

Revise and update plans based on site changes or project feedback.

Utilise approved systems and software (e.g., RapidPlan) to deliver accurate and timely designs.

Maintain comprehensive documentation and meet client submission requirements.

Support continuous improvement and uphold safety-first principles in all designs.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

Current QLD Traffic Management Designer (TMD) accreditation.

Proven experience designing TMPs and TGSs.

Proficiency with RapidPlan or equivalent traffic design software.

Solid understanding of traffic management protocols, road safety, and compliance standards.

Working knowledge of QGTTM and AGTTM.

Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.

A proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.
