Qualifications

• Traffic Management Designer (TMD) accreditation is essential.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and White Card required.
• Experience with RapidPlan or similar traffic design software preferred.
• Solid knowledge of AS 1742.3, AGTTM and related Codes of Practice.
• Strong safety management systems and risk process understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS).
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, AS standards, AGTTM and procedures.
• Conduct risk and hazard identification and document controls.
• Coordinate with councils, authorities, clients and internal teams.
• Prepare and support permit submissions and approvals.
• Communicate operational requirements to field crews and handovers.
• Review and update plans as works progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and version control.

About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Traffic Management Designer (TMD) to join their Sunshine Coast team. You’ll design, coordinate and support traffic management plans across a wide range of projects in QLD and NSW. Working closely with operations, permits and field teams, you’ll ensure plans are compliant, practical and delivered to a high standard. This role suits a proactive designer who values ownership, collaboration and being part of a growing, well-structured business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS)


• Ensure designs comply with legislation, AS standards, AGTTM and company procedures


• Conduct risk and hazard identification and document controls


• Liaise with local councils, state authorities, clients and internal stakeholders


• Prepare and support permit submissions and approvals


• Communicate operational requirements and handovers to field teams


• Review and update plans as works progress


• Maintain accurate documentation, version control and reporting

What you’ll need

• Traffic Management Designer (TMD) accreditation — essential
