Job summary

Amber Organisation is seeking a Traffic Engineer with less than 3 years’ experience to join our Melbourne or Sydney CBD teams. You will contribute to traffic impact assessments, prepare concept plans, and utilise AutoCAD and SIDRA for complex turning maneouvres while engaging with clients and team members.

The role supports career development through mentorship and flexible work arrangements, with a modern CBD office and a strong focus on quality transport solutions.

Qualifications

  • Driver’s licence required.
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or related discipline is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of Traffic Impact Assessments and other technical reports.
  • Prepare concept plans and intersection layouts.
  • Assist with traffic modelling using SIDRA and other software.

Amber Organisation is a traffic engineering and transportation planning company that operates across the eastern states of Australia. The position is based at either our Melbourne or Sydney CBD offices, both of which offer an exciting co-working space with a great community feel and outstanding facilities.

The Position:

We are offering a full-time role for a Traffic Engineer, with less than 3 years’ experience, including Graduate Engineers. The position is based in either our Melbourne or Sydney office. Experience or some knowledge in the following areas would be beneficial, however this is not essential:

  • Assisting with the preparation of Traffic Impact Assessments and other technical reports
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and swept path software for complex turning manoeuvres
  • Preparation of concept plans and intersection layouts
  • Some traffic modelling experience with SIDRA.
  • Knowledge of relevant technical documents, such as the Australian Standards, Austroads Guidelines, and Planning legislation in Victoria or NSW
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with clients and team members

A driver’s licence and tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or a relevant discipline are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent time management, writing, and communication skills, who is enthusiastic about traffic engineering and problem-solving. Candidates with Local Government experience and Graduate Traffic Engineers are both encouraged to apply.
