Your new role

Reporting directly to the Principal Traffic and Design Coordinator, the position provides expert guidance, co‑ordination and leadership in the area of Traffic and Transport engineering to promote the safe, efficient and effective management of the various transport modes and associated infrastructures within the Town.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Provide sound technical advice on traffic related matters affecting the Town and its road users.
• Manage both internal and external stakeholders on transport related issues.
• Provision of detailed planning and design for traffic and road safety related projects.
• High level of analytical, programming, scheduling and monitoring skills including extensive experience in the use of MS Project or similar programs.
• High level understanding and proficiency in using traffic simulation and modelling software e.g. Sidra.
• Significant knowledge in the preparation of Grant applications and acquittal processing for programs including Blackspot, Perth Bicycle network and Other Federal/State applications.
• Detailed knowledge and interpretation of relevant legislation, standards and codes, in particular Road Traffic Code 2000.
• Represent the Town on major developments impacting existing road infrastructure.
• Comprehensive reporting and advice to Council on road safety outcomes.
• Review traffic impact assessments from external agencies and private developers.
• Manage traffic data collection program.
• Assist in parking management reviews as required.
