Job summary

Traffix Group is expanding into Adelaide and inviting a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead delivery across traffic planning, modelling, design and road safety. You will manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers and grow with the SA operation from its early stage.

The role requires ~5+ years in traffic engineering, proficiency with SIDRA, AutoCAD/MicroStation, AutoTurn, and solid knowledge of Austroads and Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Approximately 5+ years' experience within traffic engineering.
• Experience across traffic assessments, modelling, design and technical reporting.
• Working knowledge of SIDRA, AutoCAD/MicroStation and AutoTurn.
• Strong understanding of Austroads, Australian Standards and relevant planning requirements.
• Strong project management, problem-solving and analytical capability.
• Confidence communicating with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Professional Engineering registration, or be working towards achieving and maintaining registration.

Responsibilities

• Managing traffic and transport projects or workstreams from inception through to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing traffic impact assessments, transport reports and construction traffic management plans.
• Undertaking traffic modelling and data analysis using SIDRA.
• Developing road, intersection, parking and active transport designs.
• Undertaking road safety, accessibility and traffic signal analysis.
• Preparing fee proposals and supporting project scoping and resourcing.
• Managing project scope, budgets, programmes, risks and competing priorities.
• Liaising directly with clients, consultants, authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Reviewing technical outputs and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Mentoring and supporting early-career engineers.

The Opportunity

As a specialist traffic and transport engineering consultancy, Traffix Group provides its people with the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects while being supported by experienced technical specialists across the wider business.

With the establishment of its South Australian operation, Traffix Group is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer who wants to be part of the business from its early stages in Adelaide and grow alongside it.

You will take responsibility for delivering traffic and transport projects, managing client relationships and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. As the Adelaide team expands, there will be genuine opportunity to take on greater responsibility and progress towards Associate and leadership positions.

The Role

As Senior Traffic Engineer, you will combine technical project delivery, client engagement and mentoring, working closely with senior leaders across Traffix Group.
