Job summary

City of Ryde is seeking a Transport Development Engineer to provide specialist traffic and transport advice on development projects from residential and commercial to major infrastructure. You will work with planners, developers, consultants, government agencies and the community to deliver practical, evidence-based solutions that balance growth, safety and accessibility.

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Transport Development, you will review traffic studies and transport management plans,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
• A current driver's licence.
• PWZ Card – SafeWork NSW work zone.
• Experience assessing traffic studies, transport plans and development traffic impacts.
• Knowledge of Austroads and Australian Standards.
• Experience using traffic modelling software such as SIDRA.
• Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver outcomes on time.
• A collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Traffic Engineering or Transport Planning.
• Experience in contract administration and project management.
• Experience preparing specifications and managing consultants.

Responsibilities

• Review technical reports, traffic studies and transport management plans.
• Provide practical, evidence-based recommendations for growth and safety.
• Contribute to transport strategies, policies and planning initiatives.
• Support grant funding applications and strategic projects.
• Assist in improving Council's transport assets and services.
