Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking motivated Traffic Controllers to join our civil team and help safeguard the public and workers on essential projects in Rockhampton. This hands-on, outdoor role involves pre-site checks, directing traffic, and supporting construction crews to ensure smooth operations and high safety standards.

A Criminal History Check is required; First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Queensland Accredited Traffic Controller Certification or equivalent
• Proven experience in traffic control on civil projects
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Carry out traffic control duties to protect road users and workers on site.
• Assist with pre-site checks and coordinate safe traffic flow on worksites.
• Follow safety procedures and site instructions to maintain a safe work environment

Job description

• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
• $73,809 pro rata per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 2 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation
• Location – Rockhampton

From pre-site checks to supporting construction crews, you’ll play a key role in protecting the public and your teammates. This hands-on, outdoor role where you’ll work on important civil projects, be part of a tight-knit crew, and make a real impact every single day.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

• Be a Queensland Accredited Traffic Controller and hold a Valid Traffic Controller Industry Authority Card.
• Proven experience in traffic control.
• Traffic Management Implementation and/or ability to obtain.
• First Aid Certificate and/ or willingness to obtain.
• Hold a Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
