Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a proactive Traffic Control Team Leader to join the civil team in Rockhampton. You will lead from the front, support the Supervisor, coordinate traffic crews, and manage site safety on major civil projects.

This hands-on outdoor role offers a strong team culture, ongoing training, and a pathway to career development within a large council. A satisfactory Police Check is required and accreditation as a Traffic Controller is essential.

Qualifications

• Be a Queensland Accredited Traffic Controller and hold a valid Traffic Controller Industry Authority Card.
• Proven experience in traffic control and leading a small team.
• Traffic Management Implementation and/or ability to obtain.
• First Aid Certificate and/or willingness to obtain.
• Hold a Construction Industry Induction (White Card).

• Lead traffic control team on site.
• Coordinate traffic crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Manage site safety and identify hazards on worksites.
• Ensure major civil projects run smoothly with a proactive, hands-on leadership approach.

Job description

• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
• $74,017 pro rata per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 2 + Site + Leading Hand 1 Allowance) + Superannuation
• Location - Rockhampton

We're looking for a proactive Traffic Control Team Leader to join our civil team and lead from the front. You'll support the Supervisor, coordinate traffic crews, manage site safety, and keep works running smoothly. This is a hands-on, outdoor role with varied work, a great team culture, and the chance to make a real impact on major civil projects every day.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
