Job summary

Cape York Land Council (CYLC) invites applications for a Community Engagement Officer (Male Identified) to foster positive relationships with Traditional Owners and communities across Cape York. You will support engagement efforts, co-facilitate meetings in remote communities, and provide cultural guidance to CYLC teams.

This role requires excellent communication, stakeholder relations, and the ability to travel regularly within Cape York.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly in remote communities.
• Ability to communicate clear information to relevant stakeholders.
• High degree of written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
• Relationship building skills with clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment while managing competing priorities.
• The ability to undertake regular travel throughout Cape York.

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitating Traditional Owner meetings in remote communities.
• Providing cultural support to internal business units.
• Representing CYLC at community meetings and conferences.
• Developing relationships with Traditional Owners of the Cape.
