Job summary

Accuweigh, based at the Wakerley branch, seeks a Trades Assistant to support Field Service Technicians with installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of weighing and inspection equipment at customer sites and in the workshop.

The role offers hands-on training across weighbridges, onboard weighing, metal detectors and X-ray inspection systems, with a clear path to progression as you gain experience and the required NMI certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in trades, technical, mechanical or electrical environment desirable.
• Willingness to learn and obtain the NMI certification.
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service Technicians with installing and commissioning weighing and inspection equipment at customer sites.
• Support routine servicing, calibration, testing, maintenance and repairs across our equipment range.
• Assist with fault-finding and breakdown repairs, learning to identify mechanical, electrical and equipment performance issues under guidance.
• Help with workshop assembly, equipment preparation, testing and packaging for sale, hire or repair.
• Travel to customer sites as required by service schedules and workload.
• Follow safe work procedures and QA requirements under the direction of qualified technicians.
• Record job details, time worked and service information using company mobile devices.
• Attend onsite and offsite training to develop equipment knowledge and practical skills.
